The History of English Springer Spaniels  in Manitoba 

Manitoba is the birthplace of Spaniel Field Trials in North America, with the first ever trial held in September 1922 near St. Agathe, MB. Eudore Chevrier known as the Father of North American Springers, lived in Winnipeg Manitoba. He founded the renowned Avondale Kennels and was at the forefront of forming the English Springer Spaniel Club of Canada (first Canadian Club). Importing hundreds of Springers from  Great Britain and breeding thousands of Springers over his 40 year career in Spaniels.  Eudore Chevrier was the Father of the modern era of Springer Spaniels in North America.
